These two articles were presented at this April’s American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) national meeting as top Addiction Medicine articles of the year. As the public health emergency has now ended and treatment programs are untangling what this means for workflows, I thought it would be useful to take a look. It wasn’t until I dove into the details that I realized I’d inserted unwarranted assumptions about what the findings implied.
