Breaking Barriers to Recovery: Making Extended-Release Buprenorphine Affordable & Accessible
This presentation reviews the logistics of initiating Extended-Release Buprenorphine (XRB) services in your office while maintaining regulatory compliance. We will explore the different procurement pathways and how each option impacts both practice budgets and patient out-of-pocket costs.
Additionally, we will examine available financial assistance resources and strategies to help provide XRB at little to no cost. The session will also cover common insurance carriers, their typical requirements, and reimbursement structures.
Finally, we will discuss continuity-of-care challenges, including what happens when a patient loses Medicaid coverage and becomes at risk of losing access to XRB—an interruption that can significantly impact recovery outcomes.
