Correctional Legal iECHO | Intersection of Corrections and Healthcare
The Correctional Involvement ECHO: Intersection of Corrections and Healthcare brings together health, behavioral health, and correctional/legal providers to address the complexities of care for individuals intersecting with the correctional legal system. This collaborative learning series focuses on improving communication across systems, strengthening continuity of care, and advancing recovery-oriented practices from custody to community.
Learning Objectives:
1. Define how to communicate and collaborate across systems
2. Describe an effective continuum of care between community and correctional healthcare
3. Highlight opportunities to support recovery
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will learn unique treatment considerations for patients with SUD who are also Older Adults
- Participants will examine how co-occurring conditions impact Older Adults
- Participants will explore specific considerations unique to the Older Adult cohort, like end-of-life care and loss of individuality.
- Participants will examine medication protocols for Older Adult patients with SUD.
