Customized Harm Reduction Technical Assistance

From now through June 2025, the services of Reduce Harm, Inc. (RHI) are available to partners throughout Maine who are serving marginalized and vulnerable populations. RHI leads with, but does not limit our work to serving people who use drugs, as the integration and application of harm reduction principles can benefit all agencies serving our folks.

RHI was formally launched in July 2022, has been steadily growing in scale and impact, supporting new, emerging, expanding, or struggling community-based agencies and programs around the country. RHI has already been successful in engaging and supporting dozens of agencies in 16 States (and Puerto Rico), including several in Maine, from urban to rural, those serving Indigenous communities, and the Veterans Administration.

The breadth and depth of experience among RHI partners is extraordinary. RHI partners have co-founded, developed, and managed multiple non-profits, combined with our experiences working in and with multiple sectors (including health care, SUD treatment, shelter and supportive housing, research and evaluation, legal and criminal justice programming, and much more). RHI partners all bring lived experience to our work, each with decades of work in direct services, program and organizational start-up, innovation, and leadership.
