Opioid Rapid Response and Pain Management ECHO Program
Offered in Partnership with the Maine SUD Learning Community
The Opioid Rapid Response and Pain Management ECHO is a program designed to provide clinicians with training on pain management, opioid prescribing risks, and overdose prevention.
What:
This 7-week, case-based curriculum aims to train clinicians in primary care pain management strategies, including non-opioid and non-pharmacologic treatment options, substance use screening, risk reduction counseling, and tapering strategies for opioids and benzodiazepines.
Who:
In partnership with the Maine Office of Behavioral Health this program is led by University of New Mexico faculty and consultants specializing in pain, and addiction medicine.
Curriculum: (Date and Topic) You can attend individual sessions, although attendance at all sessions is preferred. CMEs are provided.

December 13, 2022 – How to Taper Benzodiazepines
January 3, 2023 – Stages of Change, Motivational Interviewing, and Patient-Centered Communication
January 10, 2023 – Safe[R] Opioid Prescribing
January 17, 2023 – Non-Opioid Pharmacotherapy for Chronic Pain
January 24, 2023 – Methadone and Buprenorphine for Chronic Pain
