Youth and Adolescent iECHO | Family Centered Approach
Jordan Willers will present on Project ECHO: Treating Adolescent Substance Use, a program that addresses the full continuum of behavioral health care—from screening and assessment to treatment.This series emphasizes a family-centered approach, incorporating the latest updates from the adolescent ASAM Criteria. Key topics include the developmental needs of adolescents, the impact of social and behavioral health, confidentiality and consent, and the importance of fostering resilience and leveraging individual strengths. This series addresses the learning needs of behavioral and mental health providers.
Objectives:
- Identify and respond to adolescent unique prevention and treatment needs for substance misuse and substance use disorders.
- Describe how to incorporate significant others and family in their treatment.
- Define risk factors, co-occurring issues, and other complexities.
- Examine the social and developmental issues that adolescents experience.
- Outline evidence-based practices.
