Step 4 | Obtain Private or Foundation Funding for Incentives

Identify and approach private foundations, corporations, and non-profit organizations that align with your program’s goals. Craft a compelling proposal that clearly outlines the need, expected outcomes, and how the funds will be used. Emphasize the long-term impact and sustainability of the program, and provide measurable metrics for success. Build strong relationships with funders by regularly updating them on progress and recognizing their contributions.

(California’s Contingency Management program is supported by their 1115 waiver and is a covered benefit under the state’s Medicaid plan (MediCal). This is not the case for Maine: Contingency Management is not an approved service for MaineCare billing. Please review the legal and fiscal guidance documents carefully and exercise caution when reviewing the samples.) UCLA’s Integrated Substance Abuse Programs assisted in the development and implementation of its Contingency Management MediCal Program. Developed by CCSME in collaboration with Haram Consulting, LLC, and Dr. Richard Rawson, this Contingency Management Implementation Toolkit synthesizes best practices available at the time of its development. Funding was provided by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services through a contract with CCSME.
